Five beats, over and over, until one player is left standing.
- 1Roll for first turn
Everyone throws two dice. Highest total starts, and tied leaders throw again.
- 2Buy what you land on
An unowned street, station or utility is yours at the printed price β or it goes to auction.
- 3Collect rent
Own a whole colour group and rent doubles. Stations and utilities pay by how many you hold.
- 4Build up
Houses, then a hotel, built evenly across the group. Rent climbs with every building.
- 5Outlast the table
Trade, mortgage and hold your nerve until everyone else is broke.
β±οΈ 30 seconds to throw the dice, 45 to finish your turn β let the clock run out and the game plays for you.
The board
Forty squares: 22 streets in eight colour groups, four stations, two utilities, jail, Free Parking and two taxes.
House rules you can switch on
The host picks these in the lobby before the first throw.
Taxes and fines go to the middle; land on Free Parking to scoop them.
Land exactly on GO to collect Β£400.
Properties nobody buys go up for auction.
Players in jail can't collect rent.
Everyone starts with 3 random properties.
Chance and Community Chest do nothing.
The game ends as soon as the first player goes bankrupt. Highest worth wins.
Playing together
Pick Pass and play. Nobody sees the next turn coming β the board stays hidden until the phone changes hands and that player taps ready.
Pick Play online, read out the 6-character code, and everyone joins from wherever they are. Latecomers can watch until the host lets them in.
Add computer players in the lobby. They buy, build, mortgage, trade and vote on who may leave.
In an online game the table votes on a quit; the host can hand the room to someone else. In pass and play a player just drops out.
